The start of the Camino

Hi everyone
Sorry about the lack of activity on the blog, but internet connectivity in Spain is somewhere between abysmal and non existent!!!!!!
Well we've finally started our journey. We eventually reached our starting point - St Jean Pied de Port after approx 36 hours in transit. It' a delightful little French village of medieval origins and still today holds much of that character.
We left there this morning at approx 8.15 and began our journey up the Pyrenees - a long climb of 27kms which all the experts say is the hardest day of the Camino. We reached Roncesvalles (Spain) at around 3:40pm - pretty tired but happy to have got here. Tomorrow onto Larasoanna
Having trouble with photos so cannot load them at the moment.
